Decode your Trace

Burn a Base to turn a Cipher into its character. Same token, now a character.

Tokens on a cold wallet? Don’t connect it.

Questions

What decides which character I get?

The Cipher’s type: some types hold far more uncommon characters than others. The Base plays no part, any Base gives the same odds.

My tokens are on a cold wallet

You don’t need to connect it.

What happens when I decode?

One Base burns and one Cipher becomes its character: same token, same number. Chainlink picks the character at random, nobody can choose it, us included. It takes about 2–3 minutes and you sign once.

What does it cost?

The network fee plus a small reveal fee per Cipher, which pays for writing your character on-chain. Several Ciphers in one go cost less per Cipher.

Can I sell a Cipher while it decodes?

No, it’s locked for those few minutes. Cancel any listing before you decode: a listing stays after decoding, and someone could buy the character at the Cipher’s price.

Which Bases are used?

Static Bases, lowest numbers first; you can change it before signing. Animated Bases (Rain, Blink) have their own utility and are never used here.

What if it gets stuck?

Nothing is lost. If Chainlink hasn’t answered after about an hour, an “Ask Chainlink again” button appears. It doesn’t burn another Base.
